India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the recent election results as a triumph for democracy during his address to G-7 countries and other global leaders at the Outreach Summit in Italy.
He specifically praised the utilization of Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) technology for its fairness and transparency in Indian elections.
During a session focusing on Artificial Intelligence and other critical topics such as African development and the Mediterranean, Mr. Modi emphasized the importance of using technology to bridge societal gaps. Notably, he shared the platform with Pope Francis, who delivered his first address to the G7 session.
On the sidelines of the G7 outreach summit, Mr. Modi held discussions with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. They discussed supporting a peaceful resolution to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, a topic that will also be on the agenda at the upcoming Swiss Peace Summit.

During their meeting on June 14, Mr. Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron engaged in discussions aimed at strengthening the bilateral ties and addressing global issues. This meeting took place on the sidelines of the G7 summit in Bari, a southern Italian resort city.
Additionally, Mr. Modi had a separate meeting with his British counterpart, Rishi Sunak, where they discussed bilateral relations and matters of mutual interest.
The G7 leaders are convening in southern Italy this week amidst a backdrop of global and political unrest, with a focus on providing increased support to Ukraine being a key priority.
