Former US President Donald Trump’s fundraising website, WinRed donation, experienced a temporary crash after a New York jury pronounced him guilty on all 34 charges in the hush money criminal trial case on Thursday.
The verdict found him guilty of unlawfully influencing the 2016 election through a payment to a porn actor. During his US Presidential campaign, Donald Trump utilized his WinRed platform; however, due to the aftermath of the case’s verdict, the website crashed as numerous netizens rushed to search for terms like “Donald Trump donation” and “Donald Trump donation side.”
After the temporary crash of the website on Thursday, the official Trump Campaign account posted, “The overwhelming number of Americans who were compelled to donate to President Trump’s campaign caused the WinRed pages to go down. We are diligently working to restore the website as quickly as possible.”
Currently, Donald Trump’s donation page no longer displays the error message. He urged his supporters to donate immediately following the announcement of the verdict. As per a report from the New York Times, Trump began sharing links to the campaign’s website on his social media platform, Truth Social. However, the link redirected users to the WinRed page, which was functioning improperly.
Donald Trump pronounced guilty in hush money trial case
On Thursday, Donald Trump became the first former US president to be convicted of felony crimes. The New York jury found him guilty on all 34 charges related to a scheme aimed at unlawfully influencing the 2016 presidential elections.
In front of the media, after the verdict was announced, Trump expressed his anger and referred to the trial as “disgraceful and rigged.”
“This trial was rigged and disgraceful,” an outraged Trump told reporters as he exited the courtroom, as quoted by the Associated Press. “The real judgment will come from the people on November 5th. They understand what occurred, and everyone is aware of what transpired here.”
Judge Juan Merchan has scheduled the sentencing for July 11, which falls just a few days prior to the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee. During this convention, GOP leaders, who have shown unwavering support following the verdict, are anticipated to officially declare him as their nominee.
