As the leader of Israel, the sole Jewish State, I declare today, from Jerusalem, on this Holocaust Remembrance Day, that if Israel is compelled to stand alone, Israel will indeed stand alone.
However, we are aware that we are not isolated, as numerous righteous individuals worldwide support our righteous cause. I affirm that we will triumph over our genocidal adversaries.
Netanyahu spoke to the nation shortly after US President Joe Biden stated that the US would not supply offensive weaponry to Israel for its attack on Rafah in the ongoing conflict against Hamas.
In a passionate address commemorating Israel’s annual Holocaust memorial day, Netanyahu mentioned that no country came forward to assist their people when the Jewish community was left vulnerable 80 years ago. “Eighty years ago, during the Holocaust, the Jewish people were completely defenseless against those who sought our annihilation. No nation came to our aid,” he remarked.
“Today, we once again face enemies determined to obliterate us. I tell the world leaders, no amount of pressure, no decision by any international body will prevent Israel from safeguarding itself,” he declared.
Netanyahu further stated, “If we must stand alone, we will stand alone. If necessary, we will fight with all our might. But we possess much more than mere fingernails.”
In the previous week, thousands of Rafah residents have been contacted via phone calls, SMS messages, air-dropped leaflets, and media broadcasts, urging them to evacuate to safe zones outside the city, likely before a significant Israeli military offensive.
On May 5, Hamas launched a series of rockets from the vicinity of the Rafah border crossing and close to an area where displaced Palestinians were seeking refuge in tents.
