The woman was attacked by an unidentified man in New York City’s Bronx borough at around 3 am on May 1.
The man used a belt to lasso her neck and drag her between two cars before sexually assaulting her. The entire incident was captured on surveillance cameras.
The man, who remains at large, approached the 45-year-old woman from behind as she was walking along a sidewalk. Surveillance footage shows the attacker, with his face covered by a white cloth, following the woman discreetly. Suddenly, he used a belt to ensnare her neck and forcefully pulled her to the ground.
The victim struggled to free herself from the belt as she was dragged down the sidewalk by the assailant. Eventually, the attacker dragged her between two cars where he sexually assaulted her while she was unconscious.
After the assault, the man fled the scene and is currently being pursued by law enforcement. The survivor was taken to NYC Health & Hospitals/Lincoln for medical treatment and is reported to be in stable condition.
The suspect is described by the NYPD as having a medium complexion, standing at 5 feet 9 inches tall, and wearing a black sweatshirt with white “GAP” lettering, white sweatpants, and black-red-white sneakers.
