Regional Governor Oleh Kiper has reported that a missile attack originating from Russia resulted in the death of three individuals and the injury of three others in the Ukrainian port of Odesa.
Kiper stated that the attack caused significant damage to civilian infrastructure. Although he mentioned that the strike was carried out by a ballistic missile, no further information was provided.
Both Kiper and Odesa Mayor Hennadii Trukhanov had previously reported a series of loud explosions. It is important to note that Reuters was unable to independently verify these accounts.
Russia has consistently denied intentionally targeting civilians. This incident follows a similar occurrence on Monday, where a Russian missile struck an educational institution in the city, resulting in the death of five people.
Odesa has frequently been targeted by Russian forces throughout the ongoing conflict, particularly focusing on the city’s port facilities.
