Russia’s Federal Security Service reported that 40 individuals lost their lives and over 100 sustained injuries during an assault on a Moscow concert hall on March 22.
The incident, being probed by Russian authorities as an act of terrorism, stands as the deadliest attack in Russia in recent times.
A group of armed individuals stormed into the concert hall located on the outskirts of Moscow, opening fire on attendees with automatic weapons, resulting in numerous casualties and injuries, as well as igniting a large fire.
This attack occurred shortly after President Vladimir Putin solidified his control over the nation through a meticulously orchestrated electoral victory.
No group has claimed responsibility for the assault yet, marking it as the most severe terrorist incident in Russia in many years, coinciding with the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin is being regularly briefed on the situation at the Crocus City Hall concert venue near Moscow.
The Kremlin announced, “Vladimir Putin was promptly informed about the commencement of the shooting at Crocus City Hall.”
Former president Dmitry Medvedev warned that Russia will track down and eliminate top Ukrainian officials if they are found to be connected to the deadly attack outside Moscow on March 22. He emphasized that those responsible, including any state representatives involved, will face severe consequences.
