Amid mounting concerns regarding Joe Biden’s health and his re-election campaign following a disastrous performance in the initial presidential debate against Donald Trump, the President of the United States disclosed significant information about his recent medical examination to more than 20 Democratic governors on Wednesday.
The disclosure was made in the midst of increasing discussions within the Democratic Party about the possibility of Biden withdrawing from the race.
As per Politico, during a private meeting, the 81-year-old Biden informed the governors that he had undergone a medical examination following the debate last week.
The report indicated that when questioned about his physical well-being by one of the governors, the president revealed that he had undergone a check-up and assured them that he is in good health.
Nonetheless, sources familiar with the conversation mentioned in the report that the examination was conducted by a White House physician due to lingering symptoms from a cold and did not involve any major tests.
Press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre avoided answering direct inquiries from journalists regarding whether Biden had been examined post-debate, as reported by Politico.
The president undergoes regular annual physicals, and we release a comprehensive report. We will continue to do so.
Meanwhile, the Democratic governors of New York, Minnesota, and Maryland have expressed their support for President Joe Biden’s re-election bid. Maryland Governor Wes Moore stated, “The president has always had our backs.
We’re going to have his back as well.” After a meeting with Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, Moore emphasized the need for work before the Nov. 5 election, but assured that Biden had made it clear he would stay in the race.
New York Governor Kathy Hochul expressed confidence after the meeting, and all the governors pledged their support to Biden.
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz expressed concern about the threat of a Trump presidency, stating, “We’re worried because the threat of a Trump presidency is not theoretical.”
