Many individuals have raised suspicions regarding the death of Ebrahim Raisi, the hardline President of Iran, who perished in a helicopter crash in mountainous terrain close to the Azerbaijan border.
They believe that he may have been the victim of an assassination plot, with Israel being implicated in the alleged killing.
Former Member of European Parliament Nick Griffin expressed his views on the matter, suggesting that Mossad, Israel’s national intelligence agency, could have had motives beyond the apparent Gaza/Hezbollah/Iran/Israel tensions to be involved in the incident.
Griffin mentioned that the recent inauguration of the Qiz Qalasi hydroelectric dam on the border between Raisi and his Azerbaijani counterpart was seen as a significant step towards fostering cooperation and friendship between the two nations, despite their political differences.
Griffin further elaborated on the potential benefits of improved relations between the two Shia states in easing tensions between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
He highlighted Israel’s lucrative arms sales, particularly drones and other weapons used in conflicts such as the one in Nagorno-Karabakh, where Iran has shown support for the Armenian side. According to Griffin, perpetuating conflicts serves the interests of the Israeli arms industry and deep-seated animosities in the region.
Iran’s 63-year-old Raisi, along with the country’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and seven others, sadly passed away in a helicopter accident, as confirmed by the Iranian State media earlier today.
‘India stands with Iran in this time of sorrow,’ PM Modi, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar condole Ebrahim Raisi’s death
A social media user expressed suspicion regarding the circumstances of Iran President Ebrahim Raisi’s demise, hinting at a potential assassination plot. The user further speculated on the involvement of Israel in the incident and called for a thorough investigation by Iranian authorities.
Another online commentator described Raisi as a key figure in Iran’s conflicts with Israel, the US, and Saudi Arabia, noting his harsh tactics against dissenting voices.
Speculation regarding Israel’s role in Raisi’s death emerged amidst heightened tensions between the two nations, culminating in recent military actions on both sides.
However, an Israeli official denied any involvement in the tragic event, refuting claims of Israeli responsibility for the helicopter crash.
Notably, the complex and controversial tenure of Raisi has raised doubts about domestic factors possibly playing a role in the incident.
Although Israel has a history of targeting Iranian military and nuclear personnel, there is currently no concrete evidence linking Israel to Sunday’s helicopter crash, with Israeli officials maintaining silence on the matter.
