North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has instructed for an increased production rate to enhance the country’s nuclear capabilities at a faster pace, as reported by state media KCNA.
This directive was given on the same day that Kim supervised a test involving tactical ballistic missiles equipped with new guidance technology.
During his visit to an arms factory, Kim emphasized the importance of strengthening North Korea’s nuclear deterrence by issuing the production order, according to KCNA. He highlighted that this move would instill fear in the enemy regarding the nation’s nuclear combat readiness.
On Friday, North Korea launched several short-range ballistic missiles towards the sea off its east coast, as confirmed by South Korea’s military. KCNA reported that Kim was pleased with the outcome of the test.
These missile launches occurred following joint military exercises between the U.S. and South Korea involving stealth fighter jets engaging in simulated air combat.
