The ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas continues to persist, with the Israeli Defence Forces asserting that they have eliminated Hussain Ibrahim Mekky, a high-ranking field commander in Hezbollah, through an airstrike conducted by the IAF overnight on Wednesday.
The IDF conveyed this information through an ‘operational update’ on its official platform X, declaring that Mekky was responsible for carrying out “various acts of terrorism” against Israel.
The IDF’s post also mentioned that Mekky previously held the position of commanding Hezbollah’s armed forces in the coastal region.
According to Lebanon’s state news agency, at least two individuals lost their lives due to an Israeli airstrike that targeted a vehicle in southern Lebanon’s Tyre on Tuesday.
Two Lebanese security sources informed Reuters that one of the casualties was a field commander affiliated with Hezbollah.
