CNN reported that 93 individuals were arrested on suspicion of trespassing during demonstrations at the University of Southern California.
The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed the arrests, stating that the group had violated the university’s orders, leading to their trespassing.
Additionally, one person was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries among the protesters or officers.
The USC Department of Public Safety had instructed the protesters to disperse or face arrest for trespassing.
The tensions escalated when the demonstrators refused to relocate and remove prohibited items.
As a result, the university closed its campus and the LAPD began arresting the protesters.
In a separate incident, over 30 arrests were made during protests at the University of Texas in Austin.
